What it is

I’m Maceo. I started this in 2021 as a podcast called We Them Niggas, from a college apartment in Lancaster, with a microphone I bought with an ENS airdrop. It became We Them Media: a community-driven media platform trying to be at the intersection of tech, community, and culture. What we make is simple to describe. Somebody who lives in a place asks a question there, on camera, and the answer goes up in the words it was said in, with the transcript under it and every quote linked to the second. Builders in New York, a barber in Germantown, a market in Lagos, a temazcal in Acapulco. The mission, in my words; how it started, year by year.

How it is made, and paid for

Contributors film where they live and are credited by name; the people page lists who filmed what. Editorial takes no advertising and runs no paywall. It is paid for by monthly supporters through Fractured Atlas, our fiscal sponsor, by bounties that fund specific stories, and, for anyone onchain, through Giveth on Optimism. Commercial work runs through a separate company, We Them Worldwide LLC, with production by SuperBio in Abuja: same network, two products, and a separation we enforce rather than describe. What happens next

Season 01 opened June 1, 2026 and runs to November 30. The goal is the one I said on tape in April, scaled: a contributor in every country where we have a supporter, paid for the work, with the archive kept on the open web where anyone can check a claim against a face. The channel holds 515 videos and this site has written up 115; the rest is being transcribed and read now. Every Wednesday at noon New York time the Weekly Connect is open to anyone: we watch street interviews together and go over what the team is working on. The Q4 roadmap is public.
