I’m Maceo. I started We Them Media in 2021 to film the people building on Ethereum, in the places they actually live and work. Season 01 opened June 1, 2026 and runs through November 30. From September 15 to October 12 a new piece goes public on YouTube every day, starting with the Streamer University line from New York.

I do. The team is ten of us now, across the United States, Nigeria and Kenya, with contributing reporters filing from where they live. Field footage from 16 countries. We meet on Zoom. Full team on the Team page.

In Q1 2026 I went out alone in Denver with a camera and shot 100+ street interviews on zero budget. Philadelphia is in active production now. There is also Let’s Talk About ETH: Around The World, the podcast that started all of this. Season 1 ran six episodes and is wrapped. Everything is on the Portfolio page.

Our street interview programme, and the thing the network is running on right now. Somebody is asked a question on their own street, on camera, and answers it before they walk away. Contributors film them wherever they live and the catalogue fills up week by week. The first campaign runs to 4 November and we are going for 150 of them. To send one in, post it to X and tag @WeThemMediaHQ: we pick it up from there and it goes on our YouTube with your name and city on it. Everything else is on the One Question page.

Yes, and you do not need to have filmed anything. It is our community townhall, every Wednesday at noon New York time, 5pm Lagos, 7pm Nairobi. We watch street interviews together, talk about them, and cover what the team is working on. Supporters, contributors and people who only read the newsletter are all in the same room. Wages first. Two people are on payroll: Gift, who runs social, and Bayo, who runs branding and media. Recurring support goes to employing them. After that: the tools, the payment rails, and the cost of keeping the catalog free and open for everyone else. Whatever supporters do not cover, Maceo covers himself. The running total is on the Ask page, updated as the number changes.

Yeah, it’s media. That’s the actual product. YouTube is our primary channel today and we’ll keep using it. Onchain is the backup, every story gets a permanent record on Optimism, with the file itself on Arweave. That means YouTube or Substack can demonetize or yank a post and the work still doesn’t disappear. The other difference is how it gets paid for. Community bounties and monthly supporters carry it, not subscriptions or ads. Field footage from 16 countries, not one desk.

Pictures Or It Didn’t Happen. A bounty platform. Anyone can post a question with a dollar amount attached, and a community member shoots the answer for the bounty. We use it to crowdfund specific stories. Browse the open We Them Media bounties at poidh.xyz/a/wethemmedia.

Not for monthly support. That runs through Fractured Atlas. There is no token attached and nothing to trade. Separately, the tokens of patronage we minted on Nouns Builder are still live. We stopped leading with them and we do not link them here, but they work and we still count anyone who backs the work that way. Ask and we will send you there.

No. Supporters receive credit, not control. Maceo and the editorial team make every editorial call. If you want to fund a specific story, do it on poidh. Every question is public the second it’s posted, so anyone can see what’s being asked and who asked it.

We size the season to whatever the support is. Every dollar that comes in shows on the Ask page the day it lands. Six real months beats promising twelve and faking it.

We post seven days a week. YouTube is the main channel: @WeThemMediaHQ. Plus Spotify, TikTok, Instagram, and the Discord. All in the footer.
