0:03BLike, I’m New York.
0:05AOkay, and what are you working on?
0:06BI’m currently at a traditional finance information company.
0:12AOkay.
0:12BYeah.
0:13AAnd what brings you here to this conference?
0:15BI just, I just want to see, like, I’m personally pretty interested in blockchain and all the cryptocurrency-related topics. So I just want to see what people are working on right now, possibly look for some future opportunities.
0:32AAnd what are you -- what’s been interesting to you so far? Do you feel like it’s with this?
0:36BI think the most impressive thing is how like DeFi is working now.
0:44ADeFi?
0:45BYeah, DeFi. It’s like very diverse. Like people just like moving the money around like with faster speed and they can generate values. That’s something like very impressive.
0:58AIs that news? You didn’t know that before this conference?
1:00BI know that. It’s just like I didn’t thought like I just see like, okay, I can like put the money there and get this yield, but I don’t know what’s exactly going on.
1:12AOn the backend.
1:12BYeah, the backend. And it looks actually pretty complex. And like, you know, it’s like another type of engineering because I’m a software engineer myself. I just like, you know, this is a totally different type of engineering. And I’m just like thinking about, you know, to be in this field and have some real innovation, what trends should I I have? What should I learn to like transition to that?
1:40AOkay.
1:41BWhat I’m right now.
1:42AYou want to transition into like building DeFi products? You’re the next DeFi founder?
1:46BI mean, like, it just, it just like, I want to know more about it first, right? Like I did, I do work in finance, but like it’s more on the engineering part. I don’t exactly know like how to generate value with this. I think it’s just like, I see this as a shortage that I need to learn more about right now before I can really make something impressive. I mean, like, I have some ideas about like applications on blockchain, but it’s mainly just like, you know, games. Like, those are very entertainment. Like, it’s like, it’s good, but it’s not like, it’s too niche, right?
2:33AYeah, yeah. But I think if you can, like, the goal is for like blockchains have to be composable, right? So if your game can leverage DeFi products in a meaningful way that actually create value and create a sustained economy.
2:42BRight. But like before I start to think in that direction, I may not even have any like idea about it or like even I don’t know a direction to think about. But like now I’m, I just like, I know how to do like smart contract, like all the application, that’s it. But I don’t know how like you can use those to build something that actually, you know, mitigate the risk of Investment or something.
3:14AYeah. I get that. Well, I’m not worried. I know you’re going to figure it out and I’m excited to see what you build.
3:17BThank you.
3:18AWhere can we find you online? Like, do you want to shout out social media or somewhere we can tag you? You don’t have to.
3:26BYeah, I mean, like, I don’t -- my Twitter is just like an account that doesn’t -- just like, yeah, it’s fine.
3:33AWell, if you do have a Twitter, crypto is mostly active on Twitter, I would say.
3:37BYeah, I know. It’s just like, yeah, I should be having more online presence. It’s just Like I’m not fully in this field now, and then well this is going to be your breakout piece of content.
3:49ASo shout out your ex. What’s your what’s your Twitter?
3:50BIt’s uh it’s called Syrup Scar.
3:54AOkay spell it.
3:56BS Y R U P uh scar is S C A R. Okay hell yeah. Like Scarlett my name.
4:05AUh huh.
