0:41Jesse WilliamsYeah.
0:41Kamal HubbardAnd then they can pay back either as the trip gets closer or after the trip is over. And so, I don’t know what’s maybe off base and what can you add to that example?
0:53Jesse WilliamsNo, that’s, that’s a, that’s a perfect example of how you can use it. One of the best parts is that as, as more and more people adopt it as a technology, they’re going to discover use cases that I never imagined. And so that’s one of the things I’m looking forward to most. One of the most prevalent use cases that sticks out in my mind, what I’m most eager to be able to to experience. My mom is in real estate. My sister also is in real estate. I would like to be able to purchase properties as, you know, as a, as a, as a family and have a way of purchasing those properties and accounting for who has contributed what. My mom often lends us money. So, you know, I you know, my mom is pretty much my only source of credit nowadays, my only creditor. I would like to be able to, you know, for her to be able to rest easy knowing that I’m not gonna, you know, default on any loans that she’s given me. Because she knows that, you know, I want my collateral back.
2:05Kamal HubbardRight, right.
2:06Jesse WilliamsOr, you know, if, if, you know, if she’s, if she’s not tripping over, you know, the collateral or something like that, if it’s up to her, you know, she can, she can, uh, you know, forgive the loan and return it. So that’s the use case I’m looking forward to. Um, but, you know, there’s, there’s many. Um, I can -- the community that, that, uh, I’ve built so far, they’re all over the world. Um, a lot of them are based in Nigeria. Um, there are also a few that are based in Latin America, a lot of them don’t have access to sophisticated financial institutions. And what that means is, um, receiving loans is next to impossible for them, right?
2:06Jesse WilliamsAnd so I would like to see those members within my community be able to kickstart their businesses Some of them are tailors, some of them are farmers. They need equipment to be able to, you know, run these businesses without having the option to be able to save up. You know, it’s pretty difficult to acquire that equipment. So I would like to be able to contribute to the region of the world that they service in the form of being accredited to them. So that’s another thing I’m looking forward to. And now that you’ve planted the seed in my mind, I am looking forward to, you know, planning family reunions.
2:06Jesse WilliamsI think my family is overdue for one.
3:44Kamal HubbardYeah, yeah.
3:45Jesse WilliamsSo that would be nice.
3:46Kamal HubbardYeah, I call that family DAO, right? Where, you know, it’s a DAO for your family, but that’s personal DAO too, because it’s something, you know, yeah, you can use for families to kind of get together and like, you know, it’s always with a family reunion, oh, who’s gonna come? Who wants to come?
4:03Jesse WilliamsRight.
4:03Kamal HubbardAnd then, oh, someone couldn’t make it because --
4:05Jesse WilliamsAnd then crickets when it’s time to pay.
4:07Kamal HubbardRight. Yeah. Yeah. So now everything’s on-chain. We’re --
4:11Jesse WilliamsRight. You got access.
4:13Kamal HubbardYeah. Uh, and if you don’t have the funds, then hey, someone can, uh, float you the funds for a little bit. So it just makes it easier. And yeah, you know, nobody’s, nobody’s mad at any, any anybody. Of course, I hope not, you know, and I think it’s a cool way for families to kind of come together around, once again, decentralized finance, Web3, and all that. So, Jesse, I definitely want to thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule. I know you’re coding and you just had an NFT launch. Maybe before you go, can you talk to us a little bit about that?
4:47Jesse WilliamsIf you recall, I mentioned that personal DAOs are gated DAOs. So in order to access them, you either need permission from the, um, the members of the DAO. So the DAOs have the ability to sanction an NFT that essentially functions as an access pass to the DAO. What we’ve done with the First Personal DAO, uh, we’ve created an NFT collection that will that will act as an access pass to that DAO. That NFT collection went live maybe about 36 hours ago. In that time, we’ve already sold about 60 or 70% of the supply. There’s about 30% left. I don’t think they’ll last long, but for those of you who want to get in, Before they’re sold out, you can buy it from tonic.io. That’s tonic spelled T-O-N-I-Q dot io. Yeah, you can purchase one there, and if you hold it, we make the the first personal DAO live. You’ll be able to access it just by being a holder of that NFT. Okay, so that’s tonic.io. Only a few of them left.
6:16Kamal HubbardInclude the link in the description, but we know time’s running fast, running out fast on that. And congratulations on a successful NFT launch.
6:24Jesse WilliamsThank you.
6:24Kamal HubbardAnd if there’s anything else you’d like people to know about you, where they can find you or learn more about Personal DAO, where can they go?
6:33Jesse WilliamsYeah, you can find me on X. @JesseTheGreat_. So Jesse spelled J-E-S-S-E, the spelled T-H-A, great G-R-E-A-T, and then underscore. Um, you can also find me on LinkedIn at Jesse D. Williams Jr. Between those 2, you’ll find -- you’ll get a hold of me.
6:54Kamal HubbardAll right, well, thanks again, Jesse, for taking time out and being a part of the ICP CC24.
7:02Jesse WilliamsThank you.
7:02Kamal HubbardAnd, uh, catch you guys on the next one. Make sure to not just make it a good day, make it a great day with crypto. Crypto with Kamal. And we’ll see you soon here from ICPCC.
7:14Jesse WilliamsPeace.
