0:00A: So what’s up, man? What’s your name?

0:01B: Ja.

0:02A: Okay, where are you from?

0:03B: Belgium.

0:04A: Okay, and what are you working on?

0:05B: Right now I’m working as a founder of ETH Belgium. It’s a crypto community out of Belgium. We’re doing a bunch of events, getting sponsors, educational institutions, policymakers, lawyers, builders all together in events we do throughout the year in the country.

0:21A: Very sick, very sick. And how’s it been for you actually connecting with builders on the front, like at the front, people who are thinking?

0:27B: Yeah, it’s really, really good. Like, I’ve been doing this for the last few years and it’s awesome to connect. Web3 is kind of a global thing. You don’t really have a headquarters that exists. So these events are kind of like a headquarters that keeps traveling around the world. And you go, you see people, you meet new people, you also see people you’ve met before. And also, yeah, you also get to experience new culture. That’s the best part to me. I love to travel with the conferences and explore the culture where it is. So it’s been amazing here.

0:57A: And what is ETH?

0:59B: ETH is a short term for Ethereum. It’s a cryptocurrency, it’s a chain, it’s basically what this whole industry is built onto. You can build apps, you can build games, you can build a lot of cool things, you can build basically anything you want integrated. It’s private, it’s secure, and if I had to summarize it in one word, what Ethereum is, what ETH is, it’s a blockchain.

1:26A: And what do you feel like most people outside tech are overlooking that blockchain has to offer?

1:32B: I think they’re really overlooking the security aspect of it, the privacy aspect of it, and also the fact that you can be based out of anywhere in the world and, you know, not be discriminated against. For example, if I talk about financial institutions that exist, the traditional financial institutions, It really depends on where you are in the world to kind of, you know, if you send some money to someone, if someone’s from Venezuela, for example, it’s gonna be kind of a hassle to like send the money or receive the money from them. But if you just use cryptocurrency, if you use Ethereum, it’s instant. It goes there in like within 10-20 seconds, anywhere in the world, any amount possible. And that’s like the most magical thing to me about Ethereum.

2:18A: And as a community founder and leader, right, in Belgium, do you have a message for Belgians around the world?

2:25B: My message is that it’s a good community, it’s a good, it’s a really good technology, it’s novel, but do not really, you know, depend on the market conditions. Markets are always going to go up, always going to go down. Do your deep dive, understand what the tech is, you know, decide if you want to believe in it. If you do, push through it because it’s going to get better.

2:48A: And you want to shout out your X?

2:51B: Um, it’s, uh, XYZ ETF on Twitter.
