AI literacy and the Future Plug: Worldwide Russ.

Maceo asked people in the network to introduce themselves on camera. This is Worldwide Russ taking the challenge: “I was challenged by my friend, Maceo from We Them, to do this little challenge.”

Who he is, in his own words: “my name is Russ, co-founder, Minister of Vibes over at Proof of Vibes, 40 Acres DAO,” and what he is interested in is “being at the intersection of culture and tech.” He is rebranding to the Future Plug, and the reason is a claim worth arguing with: “AI literacy is just as important as literacy, mathematics, like all the basic fundamentals of life.”

What he wants to do about it: “serving underrepresented in the communities and making sure that we don’t get left behind while being able to translate it in language that we can digest.” Because the barrier, as he sees it, is deliberate: “the biggest barrier is all this jibber jabber, these big words they use to confuse us.” So, “let’s break it down and let’s make it digestible in a real cultural and relevant way.”

Russ is the person Maceo was pointed to at his first ETH Denver, when he was walking around looking for other Black people in the room and was told to go and meet 40 Acres. Where this was filmed is not said on tape. The transcript below is from the original audio.

0:00Yo, yo, yo. What’s up, family? It’s your boy, Worldwide Russ, aka The Future Plug, back at it. Super excited. I was challenged by my friend, Maceo from We Them, to do this little challenge. and so I wanted just to break it down to you guys real quick and basically talk about who I am, what I’m doing and why I care and so again for those that don’t know my name is Russ, co-founder, Minister of Vibes over at Proof of Vibes, 40 Acres DAO and I’m excited about being at the intersection of culture and tech and as I focus on this rebrand into to the Future plug, it’s something near and dear to me, as I think it’s very vital, not

0:49only is it important, it’s vital as we are in this new day and age of technology, where AI literacy is just as important as literacy, mathematics, like all the basic fundamentals of life. And so, yeah, I’m just passionate about, you know, serving underrepresented in the communities and making sure that we don’t get left behind while being able to translate it in language that we can digest. Because a lot of times the biggest barrier is all this jibber jabber, these big words they use to confuse us. So, nah, let’s break it down and let’s make it digestible in a real cultural and relevant way. And so, yeah, I’m super excited, happy to be here, and peace.
