Our goal is to be at the intersection of tech, community, and culture.” Then the contest, “a weekly contest where people around the world can submit with videos of them going out and asking people the week’s question,” and the question itself: what’s something that made you smile today?

The answer is the dogs. Taking them to the park “and allowing them to run around. That actually really made me smile.” Two dogs, a Border Collie and a Shih Tzu, but the Shih Tzu stayed home: “she’s at home because she’s a princess.” She lasts about fifteen minutes on a walk, then gets carried, and “a dog that can walk a person is a powerful dog.”

0:09Maceo: All right, so what’s up? My name is Maceo Whatley. I’m the founder of We Them Media. We Them Media is a community-driven media platform. Our goal is to be at the intersection of tech, community, and culture. And right now we’re running a weekly contest where people around the world can submit with videos of them going out and asking people the week’s question. And this week’s question is, what’s something that made you smile today? Today? Or that makes you smile broadly?

0:39Maceo: Okay, excellent, excellent, excellent. How many dogs do you have? Two. Okay, and what breed?

0:44B: This one’s a Border Collie and the other one’s a Shih Tzu. Okay. But she’s at home because she’s a princess.

0:51B: She won’t go for a walk.

0:54Maceo: She’s not walking you?

0:56B: Sometimes, sometimes, it depends, but she can only last about 15 minutes before she’s tired

1:26B: Well, I mean, probably just get ice out. That’s about it for me.

1:32Maceo: Okay. And if you could ask people around the world one question, what would you ask them? What do you wonder?

1:38B: Honestly, like, how hot is too hot? Like, every country has a different level of like, what’s their hot level in their food. And I’m just like, I wish there was more of an international, like, how hot is hot? I wish we would all get hot.

2:00Maceo: You wish we were a little bit less subjective, huh?

2:01B: Yes, a little bit. There’s always a number scale, and I don’t feel like it’s an internationally known.

2:06Maceo: Okay, I see.

2:07B: What level of hot do you want? One, two, three, four, or five? I’m like, who’s riding these rules? I wish we would all get together about that. Okay. Honestly.
