Daniel, in Nigeria, on the cohort he runs over WhatsApp, and why. The problem he is working against is a belief: “most people feel like the only way they can actually make money is through internet fraud.” His answer is the phone in their hand. “once you have a phone, you can get into Web3” From there, in his list: “you can learn blockchain development,” digital marketing, remote work for crypto and Web3 brands. The point of all of it, in his words: “you can earn without having to be a fraudster.”
He is modest about the scale. It is a WhatsApp group, “Nothing too fancy, just onboarding new members and telling... teaching them the basics of blockchain and then, um, the basics of crypto” and “I have a cohort coming up very soon, probably in August.” Why crypto rather than forex? “you can actually start even without a dime in your pocket once you have a phone in your palm.”
