Sean, on the Crypto Mondays community he helps run in Philly.
A Philadelphia organiser explains a crypto meetup network now running in seventy cities, and answers the question nobody asks at a party: what artificial intelligence has actually done to crypto tax work.
Sean does crypto taxes and organises Crypto Mondays in Philadelphia. He describes it as “a Crypto Mondays DAO, just spreading the word, educating people on crypto, Bitcoin, AI and all those discussions” with developers, investors and local startups in the room.
The scale surprised the interviewer. “They’re at an international level. We have close to almost over like seventy cities now, all across the country and then as well as international.”
On what running it has been like: “It’s been an amazing experience. You meet a lot of like-minded people, you make new friends, but at the same time you’re learning about new technologies coming into blockchain.”
And on whether AI has taken the work out of crypto taxes, an answer that resists the easy version. “A little bit, but it’s a very grey area. The rules, regulations, some parts are still up in the air because the IRS is still trying to figure things out. With AI it’s getting a little bit simpler, but we won’t have a clear sense of direction until the IRS tells us exactly how to follow those transactions.”
He then turns the interview around and suggests what to ask everyone else at the party: what got them into crypto in the first place.
