Day five is a transit day more than a filming day: Charlestown, Rhode Island to New London, Connecticut, with a stop at Dave’s Coffee for a cookie and a battery charge, then a train the rest of the way into New York City. A friend puts her up in Manhattan, which she is openly relieved about, and the video ends with her admitting she is carrying too much gear and needs to travel lighter.

The following days, chilling and preparing, cover getting the bike sorted and building up to the next leg of the ride heading south. New York is the last stop before the route turns toward Washington, D.C. and then down into the Carolinas.

What she filmed here.

She paid for this whole ride herself, $6,000 before she asked anyone for anything, and she is still out there riding.

Help her document it

This is one state in a ride that is still going. See the full travel catalogue for where else she has been, or the channel itself for everything, sorted and unsorted alike.

Help Marissa document the journey

Goes straight to Marissa’s own GoFundMe. No set target, so give what it is worth to you. This is a personal fundraiser in her name, separate from We Them Media’s Fractured Atlas sponsorship, so it is not tax-deductible.

Keep this going

8 supporters at $178 a month pay for this work, on the way to $1,000 a month. 61 people have been asked One Question on camera. This season's campaign runs to Thursday 10 December.
