Terms of Service. What you may do here, and what we promise.
There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to pay to read wethem.xyz. These are the terms that apply anyway: to the pages, to the videos, to the buttons that talk to other services, and to our own use of YouTube's tools. They are written in plain words by the people who run the site. If something here is unclear, write to us; the address is at the end.
Read it, search it, quote it with the name on it.
- •Reading and searching are free, with no account and no paywall. The site is run by We Them Media, part of We Them Worldwide LLC, in the United States.
- •The writing on these pages is ours or a named contributor's. You may quote it with a link and the name kept on it. Ask before reprinting a whole page or transcript; the address is below.
- •The words in a transcript belong to the person who said them. We publish them so they can be read and checked against the tape. Quote them as theirs, not as ours.
- •The videos are on YouTube. Every video page here loads YouTube's embedded player, so watching them is also subject to the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.
- •The open dataset (the transcripts, records and people index offered for download) may be used for research and reporting with the source named. It is not for training a model to imitate a person on the tape, and not for identifying anyone beyond what the page already says.
- •Do not scrape the site in a way that slows it for others, post other people's private information through the correction form, or present a corrected or edited transcript as ours.
Corrections, takedowns, and what we cannot promise.
- •Corrections. Every page has a correction link. A correction that checks against the tape is made and dated on the page.
- •If you are on the tape and want a piece changed or taken down, write to us. We take the request seriously and answer it; the Privacy Policy says what we keep and for how long.
- •Claims made on the tape are the speaker's. We publish what people said; we have not checked every claim, and the pages say so.
- •The site is provided as it is. We work to keep it accurate and available and we cannot promise it will always be either. Nothing here is legal, financial or medical advice, including anything said about crypto.
Our own channel, under YouTube's rules.
We Them Media uses YouTube API Services to manage its own channel and to embed its own videos here. By using this site you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service for that part of it. Our tools read and write only our own channel's details and never collect YouTube user data; the full description, and how the channel owner can revoke that access, is in the Privacy Policy.
One address, and a date on every version.
