The bounty that fooled poidh: Kenny on the Gaza claim.
A minute and a half from the first episode of the podcast’s new season, with Kenny, who built poidh, the bounty board the weekly contest on this site ran on. Has Kenny ever been finessed? “I have a finesse. It is what it is. There was a bad one. Somebody faked a, for a Gaza relief bounty.”
The bounty was to plant a tree in Gaza. Donations took it to about $300. Someone submitted real photos, “it’s for sure in Gaza,” but as a middleman: “it’s for my friend, my friend is the one who did it in Gaza, so like, I’m going to submit the claim, and then I’ll pass the money along to him.” Kenny: “I didn’t feel great about it from the very beginning.” Then it blew up on Farcaster, “People love the pictures that he posted,” a stranger added about $800, and Kenny took that as a signal. “I will approve the bounty. And so did it. And then guy never gave any any sort of evidence of sending the money through to people.” His close: “now I’ve always taken it seriously, but.” The full episode, an hour on the Marxist case for Bitcoin, is linked below.
