0:02Maceo: Hello everyone, welcome to the podcast. Hi, I’m Maseo. I’m a senior in college studying moral psychology right now, which feels kind of weird to say. I’m a senior, which means I’m gonna be graduating soon. This is my last semester coming up, which I’m a bit nervous about, definitely, but also excited about not being in classes anymore. I feel like they definitely do get to be a bit old, especially as they become more challenging and rigorous. And demanding. All the above. But it’s definitely worthwhile, I think. Definitely has been worth the time and energy. But in this podcast, I’m looking to do something outside of school a little bit and talk about my interests in music and rap music in particular. But I’m interested in all music, so kind of looking to find people to help me explore that, whether that’s through interviews or just talking to my friends and having conversations that are a little bit more structured and oriented. Sharing them here so people can follow along. So I think it’s all worthwhile. And alongside that, I have some interest in philosophy. I’ve been studying moral psychology, so maybe exploring some of that stuff, what I’ve been learning in school and what my friends in my classes have kind of been exploring as well in their projects and interests. And also an interest in cryptocurrency and blockchain technology and kind of how that’s gonna impact, interrupt the music industry in particular, I would say is definitely of big interest to me. So thinking about Exploring that, and social work’s of interest to me as well. So kind of seeing how all those things that I’m interested in kind of -- I don’t know, seeing what I can learn about them and share with you guys as well as I think about what I’m gonna do after I graduate. And last thing I’m really into is anime. I haven’t been watching as much, I guess, since I’ve been in college, but it’s definitely something I enjoy. One Piece is definitely my number one. I will say that. It’s not too hard of a choice for me. But Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood Definitely honorable mention, probably my first anime after Bleach. And then, uh, so how’d this podcast come to be? I guess I’ll tell you guys that as well. So towards the end of the summer, I said I wanted to start a podcast as a way for me to definitely try and like network, like meet some people, see like -- I listen to a lot of producers on -- I want to, I mean, I’ll be a rapper myself, so I’ve been listening to a lot of producers who make like tight beats and post them on YouTube. So I thought it’d be a cool way to go see some of those producers who I think are worth highlighting and see how they find themselves being inspired, how they started doing this. And kind of as a way for me to get a better sense of how producers see the industry and the musical space and just get more related to that space because I don’t really know much about it. And while I’ve been in school, I definitely haven’t been building connections there. So I guess as a way to kind of start doing that and show support to those people too, because I really do feel like oftentimes producers get overlooked. Especially some people I feel like my age, I feel like who maybe aren’t as acquainted with music, or even just younger as well, just maybe aren’t as acquainted with music. I feel like in general, I feel like age probably isn’t such a defining factor. So in this show, I really kind of just want to explore those things, learn about what’s of interest to me, talk to people and see what they can share with all of us, and just kind of push the conversation forward on behalf of everybody, because I think some of these things are important to talk to, and I like to talk, so why not have me do it? Yeah, so if you guys have anything you want me to talk about, feel free to send me some suggestions on Instagram. Yeah, and if you guys have those suggestions, I’ll definitely look through them and we’ll see. And thanks for listening to my intro episode and taking this dive into journalism and content creating with me. We shall see where we go.
