0:00 There's a choir that we have just like a simple one with some of the work that we do. So we got our email on it. We do tutoring. We help review your application materials, job search assistance, resume cover letter building. Also, we got to include interview prep on that, administrative work assistance. So that just like if you need to research something and figure out how to do something, you know, or maybe complete some applications and then business consulting. So, like, small businesses and things like that But also, like, individuals and brand owners Like, so, if you have your own personal brand, right? And you want to help, like, you need to help try to organize things
0:37 So, what I've kind of been doing for BetOise Is I've been setting up, you know, like, a program Like, a summer intention program, but with everything So, we have training manuals on how to orient people, you know, to what we do Right, so I have things that we've tried to incorporate, I've made like a list of it, and it's all going, I have presentations, so like when he tells me, like he told me for example, he had a campaign that he wanted to promote, the Red IT campaign, right, so what I did was I made this, I got questions from him, and, or I asked him all types of questions, you know, I took my notes down, and what the plan was, and I set him up like a whole summer internship program here.
1:22 So this is week zero of the things we gotta do, you know, and then for weeks one through three of the summer internship, June 9th through 29th, boom, here's our plans, right? So I've been helping, like, set up basically like a whole organization thing, you know, for him, but pretty much it's like just the things that I want to be doing just in general, like, just kind of like for anybody really that need that type of help or that wants that help. But, you know, there's different things So, like, Fumi was doing the tutoring yesterday She was tutoring some of our clients in chemistry You know, I do more, like, the tutoring in math
2:01 Either of us help with, like, English, you know, and writing That type of thing And then, I mean, just any type of, like, the job search stuff I will primarily do, like, the job search with you, Fumi And I will both do, like, the cover letter resume Just depending And then, like, finding a job That makes sense, I think it's cool that you guys are doing that, providing so many services and I think what's exciting is that I think beyond just, like I was saying, for your writing, really all you need to do is get in front of an audience, I think the services you're providing, you can provide to anyone over the internet as well.
2:52 And so really, like, what I can be also doing is helping, supporting you guys in marketing those services to people Because there's a lot of people that want those kinds of support from, like, people that they, you know, trust And feel like they're actually going to deliver them, you know, some value And I feel like there's not, like, a million people saying that's what they're doing all the time I think academic tutoring from, like, black tutors that are willing to work with you at a rate, you know I think is, like, most of the time not real It's affordable, right? Yeah, yeah, exactly, right? And half the time, depending on who you are and what the circumstance is, it can still be pro bono, you know
3:20 So, we just picked up somebody that, I just picked somebody up, right, that I'm going to start working with But I'm not going to charge them, just because I know that they, not that they can't pay, but more like, they need it, rather than It's not, like, it's not like an expense that, you know, they can just spend on, and get it, and like, be fine with it, necessarily Like, it'll still hurt in some sense, you know So, like, I wouldn't want it, I don't want it to be something like that, I want it to be where it's like You don't have to compromise, you know, the quality of life
3:51 You don't have to compromise what the goals are that we say that we are helping you try to accomplish So if you got, you know, those personal goals, you try to still stay in line with that, you know But, I mean, it's really just, yeah, the marketing part Because I don't personally know how to market that well just yet I've been getting more into it But as far as putting everything together and organizing and having plans That part I can do because I can understand those things and understand how to break it down in an achievable way or an accomplishable way.
4:27 Yeah, so just getting more of the marketing and flyering out there. At least for ourselves, I didn't want to do as much yet just because of the branding purposes. We want to make sure that when we brand ourselves, it's something that's going to stay for a while. We don't have to change because I feel like that's a little bit more tough down the line. But yeah, so we've been working on business cards. We've been trying to get our logo together We've made the flyer just something that we could share for now But all that we want to develop still But yeah, the writing and those things
5:02 As far as producing ideas, that's more of a personal thing Where it's like, I want to do that And if it could help, or if I could also use it to help the promoting I want to do that too But I don't necessarily Like I'm not just doing writing, like that's not the only service that we offer And so how long have you and Fumi been working on this, like when did you guys launch it? So I think we took our first client in like September of 2022 So we started out by taking on some sample clients of just some friends, family, people that we already kind of knew needed so many services and so we kind of brought it to them
6:07 and in this sense it was a little bit more like we had to like express our value like show our value to them like how we can help them to make them want to like do with this because even though it's free it's also just like it's personal information so you gotta somebody's got to be willing to share that stuff and share their ideas their goals their targets and these things to do so we started out like that and then as we kind of got through our clients and did more of the work, you know, we got some of the people to give us testimonials,
6:35 some of them have explained a little bit like what they've done for us, right, and so how, or at least what we did with them, so like, for example, here's one, you know, if I pull up Pablo's, Pablo wrote us this testimonial, and he said he's still working on it, but this is what he wrote so far, he said, so prior to graduating from undergrad, he went to Wesleyan University. And being thrust into the professional sphere, Ready Now quickly became my most valuable resource when it came to building my career. Out of all the resources and networks available to me, none were as helpful or personal as Ready Now. At the beginning of our time together,
7:11 Ready Now made sure to understand my professional ambitions and underlying values before building a customized roadmap to achieve my lofty goals. Once we were all on the same page, Ready Now kept me accountable through informal check-ins and leveraged industry contacts to ensure I had the best possible opportunity to break into competitive fields. When I eventually decided to apply to law school, ReadyNow turned on a dime to formulate a plan of attack which involved creating a list of schools, building an LSAT study plan, revising essays, selecting recommenders, and finding pre-law programs to best position myself as a 1L. Despite being the first person in my family to enroll in a graduate program, many law students and young attorneys have remarked
7:50 that my relatively detailed understanding of both law school and legal practice, which is nothing but I'm a testament to the level of preparedness ReadyNow provided me. I can confidently say that the work I did with ReadyNow formed the foundation for my success in the law school admission process, and I'm certain the teams will remain in my corner as I learn both law school and legal practice. And, you know, we did a lot of things with them. That was kind of like how he wrote about it. But it's like, I mean, he did all the hard work, you know. We kind of, like, I mean, the clients, they've kind of gotten the work and most of the things already.
8:25 We kind of just, you know, are there to help you see it, believe it a little bit more, and to just achieve it, right? So to help, you know, maybe get a little bit more of the motivation, just like you said, the accessibility, right? Like as personal, like we try to be, like we say ready now because we're ready now. So if you call us whatever time, we're ready now, you know, like the goal is that whatever ideas you have, whatever those things, boom, you can always tell it to us. and we're working to help you get ready now, you know, too, and so it's like pretty much just you have like an access, an open line of access to communicating with us and, you know, just be able to ask questions, you know, when you're concerned, when you feel like this or you feel like that, and it's like it's very much tailored to just towards you and what you want to like accomplish, you know, but we've been doing that since, so probably for like a year and a half now, almost two years,
9:27 Oh yeah I'm not like the cameras bro, I'm not really a superhero You're not really what? I don't do, like I'm not a super like camera, I miss camera shy Well even though it's spectacular, this is the informal, the informal interview with Mr. Nesbitt So, shout out to he I mean I think that's cool, I think it's awesome you guys are doing that
