0:00A: Awesome. What’s your name?

0:00B: My name’s Sarah.

0:01A: Sarah, it’s nice to meet you. I’m Maceo, and this is for We Them Media and Picture It Didn’t Happen.

0:06B: Awesome.

0:06A: So what’s something that made you smile this week?

0:08B: Something that made me smile is going to an improv class because it’s so funny and all that laughter and just getting on your feet and not overthinking.

0:18A: Okay. So yeah, it’s like a flow state kind of thing, huh?

0:20B: Exactly.

0:21A: How long you been doing improv?

0:22B: I’ve been doing improv for like years because I do acting, so it’s just always been part of my life essentially. Okay. Could you give up?

0:30A: Just moved back to Denver.

0:31B: I moved to Denver, and so I was trying to find the improv thing here.

0:34A: Okay, where’d you move? Where were you coming back from?

0:36B: North Carolina.

0:38A: Okay.

0:38B: Yes.

0:39A: And you’re from Denver originally?

0:40B: Yeah.

0:41A: Oh, okay. What’d you study?

0:42B: I studied acting and communication.

0:45A: Okay. And is there like, uh, like stagecraft? You wanna do like film? Like, what do you -- yeah?

0:49B: Yes, film and stage.

0:50A: Okay, both?

0:52B: Yeah.

0:52A: Okay, yeah, you’re doing improv. That tracks, right? So can you give us like an improv monologue?

0:56B: An improv monologue?

0:58A: Your friend’s like, really?

0:59B: Can you give me like a topic?

1:01A: Um, do you have a topic for your friend? What’s the topic?

1:05B: Can I please get an item that you use daily?

1:09A: Uh, phone.

1:12B: I don’t like that. Um, pillow.

1:15A: Phone or pillow?

1:16B: Okay, I’ll do pillow.

1:17A: Okay, where you going?

1:18B: To my pillow. You’re always there for me at the end of a hard day. Sometimes I don’t see you enough. Sometimes you’re not, you’re not fluffy enough. Like, I just, I just need that like memory foam pillow, you know? But pillows can mean a lot to one. people, but I think we all just need to rest and we all need to take time for self-care and don’t break the pillow. And sometimes you need to pull a fight because whimsy is important.

1:46A: Thank you. Yeah, thank you. Bravo, bravo, bravo.

1:50B: Yeah, it wasn’t really that funny, but --

1:52A: That’s okay.

1:52B: It’s funny.

1:53A: Yeah, yeah, yeah.

1:54B: That’s what it is.

1:55A: It’s just, we’re just trying to get authentic moments and we’re farming takes on the street. That’s what I’m up to. And so if you could ask people around the world one question, what would you ask them?

2:03B: Oh my gosh, this is a big deal. There’s so many questions, but I would say --

2:09A: You can ask as many as you want.

2:11B: Are you in therapy?

2:12A: Okay.

2:13B: And will you go to therapy? Especially if you are a parent, I think that you should go. I think that we should end generational trauma and we should be kind to people. And what are you doing to help others and be more inclusive to your friends and to people around you? Think about that.

2:32A: Hell yeah. Thank you.

2:34B: You’re welcome.
